posticon sighting reports

Date of Sighting: Summer, 1962
Time of Sighting: Mid-Day
Date Reported: April 17, 2005
Location of Sighting: Seattle World's Fair Complex
Number of Witnesses: (At Least Two)
Description (In Witness's Own Words): I was 10 years old and at the Seattle World's Fair with my dad. We were walking in the area by the base of the Space Needle and we approached a crowd of people, who were looking up. Both my dad and I looked up and saw approximately 8, maybe 12 round, gray in color objects, hovering in a straight row. I recall seeing heat waves coming off of them. And in super fast speed, the objects started "reshuffling" but staying at the same height, then stopping in a line again. Then, again in super fast speed, they all took off straight up to a point where they were just dots in the blue sky, then came back down to the same level they were, again in a straight line. They then did another "reshuffle, went back into a straight line, hovered, and then straight up again and gone. About 2 years ago, I brought this up to my dad to see if he recalled this, or was I just imagining it. He said with great certainty, that the events as I described them, did in fact happen. I have scoured the internet, trying to find any report from the time and nothing. This was a sighting in the middle of a clear, sunny summer day. There was absolutely no question that what we saw was real. I'm sorry that I don't remember the exact date. I am curious to hear if you have any reports on this sighting though.

Date of Sighting: 1962 or 1963 (Exact Date Unknown)
Time of Sighting: Early Evening (After Dark)
Date Reported: April 17, 2005
Location: Bellevue, Washington
Latitude: 47.61852 Degrees N
Longitude: 122.18473 Degrees W
Number of Witnesses: One
Number Interviewed: One
Weather: Unknown

Description (In Witness's Own Words): I am in my parent's car traveling north on the frontage road between I405 and the Holiday Inn in Bellevue. We were going to the Diary Queen. Somewhere between the Holiday Inn and the Diary Queen I looked out the window and saw a huge reddish-orange ball hanging over the Midlakes area just above where Jafco used to be. I don't know how long it was there before I noticed it but in a split second it was gone. The reason I bring this up now is because I have read witnesses reporting the same thing over the last 40 years, more than onc

Location of Sighting: Gulf of Mexico Aboard U.S.S. Lexington
(Exact Location - Unknown)
Date of Sighting: (1962 to 1966 - Exact Date Unknown)
Time of Sighting: Around Midnight
Date Reported: February 12, 2005
Number of Witnesses: Several Crew Members (Exact Number Unknown)

Description (In Witness's Own Words With Some Editing): While serving aboard the U.S.S. Lexington CVS-16 (aircraft carrier) I was an elevator operator for aircraft. One night around 12 midnight I saw a large orange glow in the sky. I called flight deck control. They said they had it on radar and tried to get it to identify itself. When they got no reply, they sent 2 F4s jets up. You could see their after burners and the F4s did not even come close to catching it. The object (light) took off out of sight. As soon as the jets returned, it came back. This pattern repeated itself 3 times. After the 3rd time guess they thought it was no threat. It followed us for about half hr I guess then left. We were told the next day to say nothing about the sightings. I wish I had at least written down time/day/year, but did not. Even years after I did not know who to report it to, Then as time elapsed more I figured no one would believe me. I just got thought that I would report it as I remembered it. We were operating in the gulf of Mexico out of Pensacola Fl. I worked the hanger deck elevator. I was in the V3 division/aircraft handlers.

Re: sighting reports

Date of sighting: Approximately November, 1965 (on a school day)

Report given by: DV, now 50. (This is a second-hand report from her mother, BD, 1918 - 2001, who was 47 at the time in 1965).

Sighting was at family residence in residential neighborhood in Seattle (between Lake City and North City off of 145th Street ). The home was at the point of a five-way intersection and likely quite noticeable from the air.

DV's mother worked at Boeing and had to rise extremely early. DV was fourteen at the time and her sister and brother were 16 and 19, respectively. The children usually rose after the mother was already out of the house and on her way to work, although her brother, MV, was in the Air Force at the exact time of the sighting, and heard the story from his mother when he came home on leave shortly thereafter.

This particular morning at about 4:00 a.m. , the mother was fixing her lunch at the sink when a very bright light at the front window through the blinds alerted her. She had never seen such a bright light in her life, according to DV. Fearing the worst (a gas explosion or a fire), she raced to the window and peered out. What she saw was to remain fixed in her mind for the next thirty-plus years.

She saw a large oval craft that emitted both a hum and a bright, yet hazy, blue light that pulsated noticeably. Both the color and intensity of the light seemed unearthly to DV's mother and she repeated many times, but only to her own trusted family members, that she had never ever seen a light like that which she observed in her entire life. The craft was sitting on at least three short tripod-like legs was made of some metallic looking material. It had small windows around the entire portion of the craft that was visible from her direction. The windows were like a ribbon around the horizontal girth of the craft. Shadows of persons or beings could be seen at the window of the craft. She was mesmerized, according to DV.

Such a report would seem inconsequential except for the fact that DV's mother was a down to earth person who never told a lie and who never said or did anything out of the ordinary during her entire life except to relate this story over the years to her husband and children. She warned them never ever to say anything about it to anyone. Indeed, she told them all about it when she returned home from work that very evening although her husband was aware of it because she tried to waken him to see it before it simply vanished. He was too late, but could tell by her trembling that something was certainly out there to have scared her like that. As a matter of fact, he believed her every word about this event from that day until they passed away. He too warned the children until they were adults to never breathe a word of this to anyone!

If you knew my mother, you would know she'd never make something like that or anything! These were the words that DV said to investigator Joe Ryan over and over.

Although the area was built up, the point where the five roads came together was very large and blacktop at the time. The craft was on the family's front lawn overlooking this large intersection.

DV's picture was of a slightly flattened egg-shaped craft with a belt of windows all around it and short legs beneath. Her best guess at the size was about 75 feet in diameter, but she never actually saw it since she was asleep the entire time. She has since spoken to both her sister and her brother and they all had similar memories of their mother's description of the event and the craft. She (DV) was careful not to ask leading questions and yes, they all recalled hearing their mother speak of the blue pulsating light, for example and the short legs, metallic surface and the hum. But it was the brightness of the light that their mother remembered most vividly. Although hazy, it was a bright blue light.

The family had no interest in UFOs before or after the event and her mother (the first-hand witness) didn't even believe that such things existed. She only knew that her job and security clearances at Boeing would be jeopardized if anyone in the family ever let this event slip out.

Re: sighting reports

Date of Sighting: Summer, 1966 (Exact Date Unknown)
Time of Sighting: Early Evening (Exact Time Unknown)
Date Reported: March 27, 2005
Location of Sighting: Halifax, Nova Scotia Canada
Latitude: 44.69747 Degrees N
Longitude: 63.61415 Degrees W
Number of Witnesses: Three
Number of Witnesses Interviewed: One

Description (In Witness's Own Words): Three boys playing in a gravel pit stop and lay in the sand for a rest, look up and see a circular object with a hole in the center, hovering at approx. 25000 ft. It gets larger and smaller as we watch, changing color. It remains there until we leave, still hovering. It looked like a fluorescent light bulb you would see in a kitchen (circular with a distinct hole in the middle). We ran home and told parents, but they made fun of it. Have never seen anything like it since. (Time of sighting-approx.40 minutes)

Date: November, 1968 (Exact date unknown)
Date reported: February 20, 2004
Location: Allied Gardens, CA (Near San Diego)
Time: Around 02:30 or 03:00 AM (Time approximate)
Duration: Not known
Witness: One

Description: The sighting was very early in the morning. The location was Allied Gardens which is a suburb of San Diego, California. The whole family (5 children, and 2 adults) had gone to bed the regular time (children at approximately 9:00 pm, youngest children earlier). Father retired about 10:00 pm and mother about 11:30 PM or midnight. The witness woke up for no reason around 2:30 or 3:00 am. She said that woke up "on her feet" at her sliding glass door facing the backyard. She as well stated that she never had sleep walked then or since. She then lit a cigarette when she was standing the sliding glass door. She said that she was looking all the way across back of the terraced yard up the bank (hill). On over the Adobe retainer wall, across the four lane avenue (sloped up the hill) to the very dark church parking lot. The church parking lot lights were always out this late. She knew something was wrong because she saw strange colored lights in the church parking lot. What were these strange colored lights? She said that the lights hovered just above the palm trees. She focused her eyes more clearly and the lights seemed rectangular in shape (lined up in a row). The lights were dull, glowing and harvest moon in color (orange/gold). As she stared at the lights, they started to move and floated to the left. They moved very slow. She wasn't sure how long that she observed them before they disappeared over the rise in the hill up the road. There were three or four "window-like" lights. The witness said that she did not tell anyone for years about the strange sighting

Date of Sighting: Summer, 1969 (Exact Date Unknown)
Time of Sighting: Evening (Exact Time Unknown)
Date Reported: December 1, 2006
Duration of Sighting: 10 Minutes
Location of Sighting: Wheatley, Ontario, Canada (About 33 Miles Southeast of Detroit, Michigan)
Latitude: 42.1 Degrees North
Longitude: 82.45 Degrees West
Number of Witnesses: One
Weather: Unknown

Description (In Witness's Own Words): This was told to me by my now dead mother. She was a realtor & waiting to show a cottage east of Wheatley. It got dark & she saw lights in the sky get close & then enter the water. She said the water glowed & then about 10 min later then water started to glow brighter & the UFO came out of the water & flew off without a sound. I know the general area--it was high cliffs & is fairly remote to other cottages.

Re: sighting reports

Location: About 8 Miles Northeast of Sandpoint, Idaho
(On Gold Creek Road)
Date: Late August or Early September, 1969 (Exact Date Unknown)
Time: 10 PM
Number of Witnesses: Two

Description: A man and his brother were returning home and sighted a strange light hovering over the driveway of their home. As they approached the light grew, moved about 4 to 6 feet off the ground, and moved into the street. The light grew from about 2 feet in diameter to 9 feet in diameter as it moved into the street. The light then shot up at about an 80 degree angle and disappeared. No markings were seen in the driveway where the UFO had been positioned. The man's parents were home at the time, but were asleep and did not see the light. Apparently a couple of weeks later the parents saw a strange white light in their backyard.
